Asked for water-filter parts under $290, Muse named five other stores.
What Meta's Muse says about your products when a shopper asks, checked against your live store.
Sep 21, 2026
Shopify announced Muse checkout with Shop Pay.
By Sep 24
Meta said Muse can browse the Shopify catalog and check out with Link or Shop Pay.
The offer
USD 40 5 products
A fixed USD 40 report on 5 of your products: what Muse gets wrong and the Shopify field most likely behind each miss. Already captured for your store; one PDF the same working day your invoice is paid.
How paying works: send your store URL, an invoice comes back by email, and the PDF follows once it is paid. No admin access, no app install.

One real finding, from Muse to the fix
Asked the shopper question below, Muse named five products from other stores. None was this store's.
Q.Find me the best water filter replacement parts under $290. Show me your top 5 with prices and where you'd buy each. Don't check out.
Captured from the Muse app on 4 Oct 2026; store name withheld.
- Product
- a $79.95 replacement UV bulb, two variants.
- Muse said
- “A $79.95 replacement UV lamp where picking the right variant is a coin flip, and the page displays an internal admin note reading 'do not publish or delete this product… Customers will not see this message'”Captured from the Muse app on 4 Oct 2026, store audit prompt; store name withheld.
- Your store's product data shows
- an option named Please select with two variants, both $79.95, both in stock. The description carries a subscription-app note: for subscriptions use only, do not publish or delete this product (checked on the live page, 5 Oct 2026).
- Why, most likely
- the note is the kind a subscription app writes on its hidden copy of a product. This copy appears to be published to the online store, so Muse read a note meant for staff. An option called Please select says nothing about what the choice is.
- Fix
- in Products, check whether this is a subscription app's copy and, if so, remove it from every sales channel. Rename the option from Please select to something that names the choice. Both are admin edits; no developer needed.
Five products, checked by hand
Three questions put to Muse in the app, by hand, about 5 of your products: a blind shopper query for your category, a direct question about each product, and a store audit of all five.
- Q. Best {your product type} under ${price}? Show me your top 5.
- Q. Tell me about {your product}. Price, options, what it fits.
- Q. Audit these five listings for a shopper: price, stock, variants, policies.

What the PDF holds
- Every Muse answer about your 5 products, screenshotted and dated.
- Each answer checked against your live store on the day it was captured: price, stock, variant, policy.
- Where Muse ranked you against other stores for your category, and who it named instead.
- Each wrong answer: the Shopify field most likely behind it, with the fix as admin steps.
- Each fix is an edit to your Shopify product data, not to Muse, so it holds for anything else that reads the same fields, ChatGPT included.
- Delivered: one PDF the same working day your invoice is paid.
- Nothing on your store changes unless you change it.
Check this yourself
To check this yourself, open the Muse app and paste the prompt below with your own category and price. See whether your store is in its answer.
Find me the best {your product category} under ${price}. Show me your top 5 with prices and where you'd buy each. Don't check out.
Muse answers differently on different days; each quote on this site carries its date because it is evidence of what Muse said that day, nothing more.
Why now
Muse is Meta's shopping agent, available as the Muse app. A shopper asks, Muse shows a few products from different stores and, with the shopper's approval, pays with Shop Pay or Link by Stripe.
Agency reports say the order shows in your admin under the Meta sales channel, with nothing marking it as a Muse order. No merchant has yet published a first-hand example.
What Muse reads: your product titles, option names, variant prices and stock, your policy pages, and the live product page itself. In this case it also read a note left in a product description.
What your analytics miss: when Muse completes a purchase inside its app, your browser-based pixels do not run. One agency report says Google Analytics and custom pixels do not fire; Shopify sends server-side events only.
Fit
It fits if you are a US Shopify store selling to consumers, with five or more products with real variants, selling things a shopper would ask an agent to compare, and able to edit product fields in admin.
Not yet for wholesale or B2B behind a login, subscription-only or made-to-order stores, stores outside the US, or stores Muse already gets right (they do not get an email).
If you want it afterwards: a 20-product audit of Muse and ChatGPT, and a fix sprint in which Vivek applies the fixes for you, both quoted after the report. A monthly re-check is planned, not yet offered.
Questions store owners ask
- You emailed me. How did you find my store?
- From public sources. I only email stores where Muse got something wrong, and the finding comes first, on an unlisted page made for your store alone.
- Do you need admin access?
- No. Everything is read from your public storefront and from Muse. No staff account, no app, and nothing changes unless you change it.
- Is this an official Meta or Shopify report?
- No. The Agent Said is not affiliated with Meta or Shopify. Every quote is captured from the Muse app on a stated date, with a screenshot kept on file.
- Why USD 40 and not a monthly tool?
- The questions are asked by hand and every answer is read by Vivek Goplani. A field scorer can tell you a field is empty. It cannot show you what Muse actually said about your product on a given day, or that a staff note in a description is being quoted to shoppers.
- Who applies the fixes?
- You can. Each one is written as admin steps in Products. If you would rather hand it over, Vivek applies them for you as a fix sprint, quoted after the report, using staff access you grant for the job and remove after.
- How do I stop the emails?
- Reply stop to any email and no more will be sent.
Vivek Goplani.
